Some people believe that due to the size of the Island, it is possible that only a few shopping areas are available in Hilton Head. To your surprise, you will find numerous shopping areas on the island. For instance, Coligny Beach has more than 60 retail stores, and they include movie theaters, supermarket, and restaurants. The street Village has jewelry boutiques, clothing stores, and art and crafts shops. Other retail shops that locals rely on include Shoppes on the Parkway, Pineland Mill Shops and Village at Wexford just to name a few. 5. The Public Transportation System Can Be Termed As Non-Existent
Hilton Head is a fairly small town, and since it mostly caters for visitors of the island, no much effort is put on public transportation. Most people especially visitors use bicycles, drive themselves or get a rental car, and since cars for rent are few, one needs to book in advance to avoid disappointments. However, Lowcountry Regional Transportation Authority provides limited bus services to transport people from the island to counties such as Hampton, Colleton, Beaufort, and Allendale. Hilton Head also has six marinas allowing people to reach the island by boat.
